Overview
Changing the Narrative of Emergency Relief
The Challenge
When people think of the Red Cross, they think of immediate blood drives or distant overseas relief. The public had developed a blind spot to the everyday, systemic, localized disaster management that the organization executes right in their backyards. We needed to break through donor fatigue and make the reality of climate disasters visceral.
The Disruption
We brought the wreckage of real Australian disasters into the clean, safe spaces of major cities. We curated a powerful, museum-grade exhibition called "Artefacts of Disaster," taking charred, melted, and warped everyday objects recovered from bushfire and flood zones and displaying them as high-art installations. By treating tragedy with archival precision and stark visual direction, we forced passersby to confront the quiet, devastating aftermath of climate reality.
The Impact
Shifted public perception from passive awareness to active empathy, driving a massive spike in donations and generating significant earned media coverage across major outlets.
